The Role
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Senior Project Officer to support the successful delivery of complex projects, products and initiatives within the TAFE Strategy, Systems and Tertiary Governance Branch. Reporting to the Manager, Delivery, the Senior Project Officer ensures key project milestones are achieved on time, within scope, and on budget, while effectively managing risks and dependencies.
This role has a primary focus on the successful transition of the shared courseware platform (TAFE Victoria Shared Courseware Hub) to the Learning Asset Management Platform (LAMP). This transition will involve working with the Lead and other TAFEs on the establishment of the new courseware platform, the systematic transition of courseware content and processes from the old to new platform, and the decommissioning of the old platform.
In this role, you will also provide high-level analysis advice, and support to inform project delivery and decision-making. This includes preparing project documentation, such as plans, reports, and briefs, as well as engaging with internal and external stakeholders to build and deliver strong, collaborative partnerships. The Senior Project Officer demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and adaptability, consistency in alignment with organisational priorities and government objectives.
Main accountabilities:
- Develops project briefs consistent with business plan direction.
- Develops briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for discussion and consideration and will contribute to the development of a set of final options for decision.
- Provides leadership in the adaptation and application of concepts to operational matters within local work area.
- Manages cross-functional delivery within a defined service.
- Negotiates with stakeholders and peers with the object of gaining co-operation and meeting timelines for delivery of project, service or advice.
- Develops service plans and delivery standards for the area of responsibility.
The Team
The position of Senior Project Officer forms part of TAFE Strategy, Systems and Tertiary Governance branch, which sits under Skills and TAFE (S&T) group.
Skills and TAFE (S&T) group focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations.
Working in close partnership with the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA), S&T provides leadership and stewardship of a responsive, high-quality vocational education and training (VET) system. This includes oversight of the Victorian TAFE Network, led by the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD), and the apprenticeships system, with a strong focus on aligning training with industry needs and strengthening pathways into the workforce.
S&T works with universities and collaborates with other Australian jurisdictions to advance national training and higher education reforms, drive innovation, and ensure consistent quality across a joined up tertiary system.
