Position Details

Administrative Officer

  • Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term role: 6 months
  • Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Role

The Administrative Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Sport and Experience Economy Group, including providing high-level secretarial and administrative support to the Deputy Secretary, Sport and Experience Economy and managing positive working relationships and liaising with senior executive management, departmental staff, Ministerial offices and other high profile public and private sector agencies.

Main accountabilities:

  • Drafts reports and recommendations by interpreting and analysing data
  • Contributes expertise to a team working on complex projects 
  • Manages projects, usually under limited direction
  • Innovative thinking is an inherent feature of the job 

The Team

The position of Administrative Officer forms a part of the Office of the Deputy Secretary within the Sport and Experience Economy group.

The Sport and Experience Economy Group delivers programs and initiatives to support positive experiences and a sense of belonging through sport, tourism and events and outdoor recreation – sectors that make Victoria a recognised leader from the grassroots level to the international stage.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Working Collaboratively: Builds a supportive and cooperative team environment; Engages other teams to share information in order to understand or respond to issues; Supports others in challenging situations. 
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Resolves issues through deep understanding/interpretation of existing guidelines. Where guidelines aren't available, analyses ideas available and takes action including in consultation with others to resolve problems.
