Assessment & Project Officer

• Salary: $100,894 - $114,476 plus superannuation
• Fixed term / Ongoing role: Fixed term up to 12 months

The Role

As the Assessment & Project Officer, you will support the effective implementation of the Fair Jobs Code through the assessment and processing of high volumes of applications, monitoring and managing the Fair Jobs Code inbox, and supporting the delivery of key administrative functions. Working as part of a small team, you will assess standard and complex applications, support the review and development of policies, guidelines and procedures, and contribute to IT systems enhancements in collaboration with internal and external partners. You will bring strong analytical, process and administration skills, experience using established systems and processes, and the ability to research issues, provide clear evidence-based advice and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Main Accountabilities

• Undertakes complex or technical investigations and makes recommendations for action.
• Develops guidelines within the work area.
• Develops and implements operational communication and consultation strategies on specific projects.
• Drafts reports and recommendations by interpreting and analysing data.
• Manages projects, usually under limited direction.

The Team

The position of Assessment & Project Officer forms part of the Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent (IDCMT) Branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment Group.

The Industry, Trade and Investment Group works closely with businesses, locally and globally, to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. The group champions Victoria as a destination of choice for trade and international investment, international education and innovation, and supports priority industries, productivity and economic growth.

The Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent Branch is responsible for shaping and ensuring the delivery of the Victorian Government's industry development agenda. The branch develops policies and delivers programs that drive sustainable economic growth and workforce inclusion, leading to higher living standards for all Victorians.

About You

You will have experience delivering projects, programs and policies, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret existing guidelines, analyse issues and take appropriate action. You will have broad digital and technological literacy, including an understanding of implementing and maintaining digital and technology tools. You will also be able to define and coordinate tasks to achieve agreed outcomes, guide others, monitor progress and take corrective action when required.
