About the branch

The Business and Infrastructure Services Division provides core support and strategic services in finance, human resources, strategic business planning and reporting, information technology and physical resources such as accommodation and fleet. The division provides the strategies, business processes and systems to efficiently and effectively deliver these core support services to enable Parks Victoria to be financially sustainable, safe and technologically enabled.


The focus of the People and Culture Directorate is to develop and support a flexible, sustainable and equitable workforce management model, which is underpinned by the provision of appropriate, consistent and timely human resources strategies, services and processes.  Working as a Business Partner for the organisation, People and Culture provides advice, information and support to managers and employees that enable Parks Victoria to meet and exceed its workforce needs, aspiration and organisational wide workforce plans.


About the role

The People and Culture Advisor is a true generalist role and will provide technical advice to managers, senior managers and employees on the full suite of people management matters including recruitment, performance development and management, workforce planning, case management of misconduct and grievance processes, change management, dispute resolution and the interpretation and application of relevant legislation and industrial instruments.

Reporting through to the Manager People Services, the People and Culture Advisor use tools, guidelines and specialist advice from subject matter experts across the broader People and Culture Directorate to ensure a consistent approach is achieved across the organisation.

Key to this position will be working cohesively with the People and Culture team to ensure consistent and streamlined approaches to coaching, supporting and solutions to management is provided.

To be successful for this role you will need;

  • Extensive experience in HR Business Partnering and the provision of expert and technical human resources advice and support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, on boarding, performance management, employee relations, industrial relations and workforce planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical problem solving.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management, Business or equivalent is desirable.
