Position Details

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to assist the Senior Legal Counsel in providing expert legal advice to a range of stakeholders. This position provides authoritative legal advice on prosecutions, disciplinary proceedings and litigation matters to internal stakeholders and related Boards as required.  

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Admission to the legal profession in an Australian jurisdiction;
  • Significant demonstrated experience in providing high-level and complex legal advice within a client services or government environment;
  • Expert working knowledge of statutory interpretation and other relevant legislation, and the rules of procedural fairness;
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, briefing memoranda and recommendations; and
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including the ability to negotiate effective outcomes.

Salary Details

Base salary in the Grade 6 range of $118,908 - $139,017 per annum (plus 9.5% super), will be negotiated with the successful candidate, depending on skills and experience.
