Position Details
About the role:
You will assist in contributing to a safe work environment by encouraging a safe workplace culture and proactively raising awareness to reduce the number of injuries and accidents and support the investigation, actioning, and closure of all hazard reports. You will coordinate and drive the implementation of our HSE management system to ensure compliance with legislation and corporate plans, strategies, policies, and procedures.
You will partner with operational staff in the identification and assessment of health and safety risk, and implementation of controls providing a consistent and streamlined approach to coaching, supporting, and providing solutions to management. You will assist in the delivery of OHS components of induction programs for new employees including bulk recruitments e.g. summer rangers, project firefighters, and volunteers.
We're looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification in OHS or related field
- Demonstrated OHS experience
- Previous experience in identifying issues, problem-solving, developing innovative, sensitive, and practical solutions, and providing strategic advice to complex issues
- Working knowledge and practical application of OHS legislation, regulations, and Australian Standards
- Well-developed written and verbal communication and facilitation skills
