About the role

As the Port and Waterway Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of our technical assessment program for maritime assets across the local ports of Port Phillip and Western Port.

This role will also provide you with the opportunity to work on a number of different projects, with duties including the engagement of contractors and overseeing local works. You will also get out into the field to undertake technical inspections and condition assessments of maritime assets.

You will hold strong communication skills and have the ability to provide technical advice on asset condition, design support and prepare project briefs for implementation of repairs, renewal and replacement programs.

We are seeking a motivated professional who has knowledge of maritime asset management and a highly developed understanding of asset and project management - you will be joining a supportive team in a progressive environment, allowing you to diversify your experience and achieve individual and organisational goals.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience in the successful delivery of asset inspection, maintenance programs and projects is essential
  • Working knowledge of maritime asset management
  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, or similar is mandatory
  • Strong written and verbal, presentation and communication skills, including leading stakeholder and community engagement
