Position Details

  • Full time 12 month maximum term position
  • Salary commensurate with experience, VLA4 range: $82,914 - $103,640 plus superannuation

About the role:

You will provide family law focused, legal professional support to Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) legal practitioners and staff as part of a collaborative team. You will assist with the creation and updating of a collection of best practice resources including precedents, court forms and sample documents or files. You will collate and publish regular legal updates, capturing and enhancing legal content and resources on the intranet and the website.

You will undertake the preparation of legal content for professional legal education and contribute to law reform and policy. You will also prepare staff for any upcoming changes in family law and the effects this may have on the family law practice and other practice areas in VLA.

About you:

You will have extensive experience in family law within Victoria, including the ability to interpret changes to the law and their impact on the family law practice. You will have experience using a range of information technology and legal research methods and tools.

You have highly developed organisational skills, experience in meeting tight deadlines while under pressure and building mutually beneficial relationships with a network of key internal and external stakeholders. Crucial to your success in this role will be your excellent communication and presentation skills, including plain language writing for online publications.
