Senior Advisor, Information Governance

  • Salary: $97,955 – $111,142 (Plus Superannuation)

The Role

The Senior Advisor, Information Governance will support the Manager, Information Governance and Risk in leading the team to deliver information and record keeping governance across the department.

The responsibilities of the Senior Advisor will include:

  • Leading the R365 Record Management project under limited direction, providing recommendations by interpreting and analysing data and ensuring the project is delivered on time, of high quality and value across the department.
  • Coordinating streams of work for the project including liaising with the technical team, facilitating record keeping workshops, assisting with change management communications and advice and establishing information lifecycle management specific to DJSIR records within R365 environment.
  • Carrying out a co-ordination role within the team to support the Manager, Information Governance & Risk in the management of R365 project.

The Team

The position of Senior Advisor, Information Governance forms a part of the Information Technology and Workplace Services branch within the Corporate Services group

The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management. Information Technology & Workplace Services (IT&WS) oversees the delivery of ICT-related investments and services to DJSIR. IS engages with the organisation to ensure ICT systems and services are appropriately designed, governed, and delivered.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in working and understanding of records management with the ability to organise work efficiently and to operate effectively in an environment characterised by short and often conflicting time frames.  Ability to use and understand records management systems. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and customers by way of email, phone calls and face-to-face and be able to write effectively in different forms and for various audiences.
  • Produces project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified; regularly communicates with, and supports project team members; ensures project objectives are met by anticipating and managing potential and emerging issues.
