  • Do you hold a qualification (Diploma/Advance Diploma) in Building Surveying, or nearing completion of this qualification?
  • Do you have sound knowledge of the building regulatory framework, codes, regulations and legislation?
  • Do you have exceptional writing skills and an ability to prepare detailed reports?

 

If this sounds like you, we have an opportunity available to work as a Building Modifications Officer with our Buildings Appeals Board.

In this role you are responsible for case managing modification and compliance assessment applications, which includes technically assessing the nature of the application, reviewing drawings and plans and other material filed by the Applicant, corresponding with the Applicant and other parties concerned, consulting with relevant authorities where appropriate, presenting the application to the Building Appeals Board (BAB) and drafting the determination that gives effect to the BAB's decision in the matter. The Building Modifications Officer is also responsible for providing general information about the BAB's jurisdiction, practice and procedure to internal and external stakeholders including users of the BAB.

It also supports industry professionals by providing guidance, education, and resources to uphold safety, durability, and sustainability in building and plumbing work.
