About the branch:

The Operations Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management.

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves.  Staff working within the region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities:

Are you looking for a new challenge in a diverse and supportive environment? We are looking for a driven professional with excellent interpersonal skills to prepare project briefs and coordinate our Southern Brown Bandicoot Protection Program. The key responsibilities for the role will include the preparation of minor services agreements, documentation approvals and the engagement of contractors within the program.

As the Regional Project Officer, you will also be required to establish effective relationships with local community groups and stakeholders. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to provide technical advice and expert support to a diverse range of third parties.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in analytical problem solving
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in project management and contract management
  • Tertiary qualification in Science and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is desirable
