About the branch

The Infrastructure and Information Technology Division is responsible for capital projects delivery, asset management, business operations and facilities including fleet management and information technology services through the operations, applications, and innovation, projects and governance teams.

The Infrastructure Capital Projects Directorate delivers a range of projects and programs across the estate including recovery projects following significant storm and fire events.

About the role and your responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity for Senior Project Managers to deliver some of Victoria most iconic projects across the Parks Victoria Estate including the new St. Kilda Pier, Great Outdoors Camping Ground Upgrades, Stage 1 of the Shipwreck Coast Master plan including the Saddle Lookout at the 12 Apostles and Port Campbell Pedestrian Bridge and Key Sport and Recreation facilities including new Netball Courts and Sports Ovals. Multiple positions are available to oversee the delivery of these key projects for Parks Victoria.

As the Senior Project Manager, youwill provide leadership and manage the efficient implementation of Major Capital Projects or Programs of Work ranging from $5M to $50M in value and spanning multiple years. The Senior Project Manager will be required to partner with commercial stakeholders at all stages of the project lifecycle and to assess and provide strategic input on commercial impacts of any changes. Your key responsibilities in this role will be to actively source and manage external project management consultancies and other providers, leading the successful delivery of multiple major capital projects and ensuring that project deliverables are met within approved scope, timelines and budgets. You will be a strong communicator as interactions with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as commercial stakeholders, is essential to this role.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, architecture, project or construction management or in a related field.
  • Significant experience in delivering multiple concurrent major capital projects with experience in both client side and consultant side project management.
  • Highly capable in the financial management of major capital projects including detailed budget management, costing reporting and cashflow forecasting.
  • Extensive experience in the procurement and management of external consultant project managers to deliver capital projects on behalf of the client.
