Position Details

Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) is responsible for the safety and technical regulation of Victorian electricity, gas and pipelines. Partnering with the Electricity, Corporate Services and Licencing Divisions, you will take the lead for providing People Services support, advice and guidance to the divisional executives, managers and employees. You will be a leader in your craft, get to understand the priorities and needs of your divisions, and provide creative ideas and solutions for the achievement of their goals.

You will work closely with your fellow People Services team members, ensuring we provide consistent, proactive and best practice services. Additionally, you will engage with your colleagues across Corporate Services on matters that require broader input or involvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with divisional executives and managers to understand their People Services needs.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice to leaders and employees on all people matters, including interpretation and application of employment terms and conditions, policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with People Services colleagues to ensure an integrated and consistent approach to the delivery of People Services.
  • Contribute to the development and review of ESV's people policy framework
  • Lead, support and participate in recruitment activities for vacancies that occur within the designated client group.
  • Work with the broader Corporate Services group to support ESV initiatives 
  • Develop and implement other People Services initiatives as required

To be successful in this role, you will: 

  • have a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent
  • previous experience in a similar advisory or business partner role,
  • a sound working knowledge of the relevant state and federal industrial relations and other employment related legislation.

In addition you will have strong communication skills (written & verbal) and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels of the business. Furthermore, you must have experience in guiding and supporting managers through various HR processes such as recruitment, misconduct and performance management.

This role will be required to service client groups at ESV's Southbank and Glen Waverley Office which will require you to work from both locations on a regular basis.
