About the branch

The Infrastructure and Information Technology Division provides core support in information technology and physical resources such as accommodation and fleet. The division provides the strategies, business processes and systems to efficiently and effectively deliver these core support services to enable Parks Victoria to be financially sustainable, safe and technologically enabled.

The IT Services (ITS) Division is led by Parks Victoria's Chief Information Officer and comprises four functions - Engage, Plan, Build and Run. The Solution Architect is part of the engage function of the Parks Victoria Information Technology organisation.

About the role and your responsibilities:

As the Solution Architect your primary focus will be to ensure all IT enabled customer, digital and operations services are designed in alignment with business requirements, are fit for purpose, responsive, reliable and secure. You will create, maintain, leverage and use industry best practice solution designs to enable the organisation's future-state business capabilities. In this role will also bring expert industry expertise to manage the design evolution of digital products and services in collaboration with key IT and business stakeholders.

Other responsibilities you will have include managing the establishment and maintenance of technology designs for the portfolio of products and services in alignment with Enterprise Architecture principles and blueprints. You will use your strong communication skills to collaborate with key stakeholders and team members on how to align business and technology requirements to the appropriate designs. As part of the designated engagement processes, you will guide and design high level solution options during project evaluation and more detailed designs through the later project stages.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Ability to analyse early, high level business requirements and document high level solution options and recommendations suitable for an outline business case.
  • Experience in Digital solutions, eCommerce services, Customer Relationship Management solutions, and Integration platform solutions (i.e. middleware, ESB's, etc.)
  • Proven experience in communicating complex technical information effectively and appropriately to both technical and business teams
  • Extensive experience in IT solution development disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations
  • A tertiary degree or relevant qualification in Information Technology.
