About the role and your responsibilities:  

As the Senior Governance Officer, your primary focus is to provide risk management and governance advice to ensure that regulatory and functional requirements are met. You will be responsible for ensuring that Parks Victoria has an effective and efficient risk management and general governance environment that enhances overall staff understanding of the principles of good governance, meets the organisation's needs and is continually improving.

In this dynamic role, you will lead policy development and implementation to effectively manage the organisation's risk management framework. You will also lead and functionally manage the organisation's Complaints Framework. You will provide subject matter expertise in the facilitation of strategic, operational, project and emerging-based risk workshops and build strong influential relationships with Divisional Management and key stakeholders across the organisation.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Business or equivalent is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and managing corporate governance and risk management systems is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated evidence in superior management of stakeholders that enabled successful achievement of the organisation's corporate and business plans and objectives.
  • Extensive experience scoping and managing projects. 
  • Proven issue identification, analytical and research skills, problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to understand the context of an issue and develop innovative, sensitive and practical solutions.
