About the role

Parks Victoria uses aircraft for a variety of purposes including personnel transport, asset construction, servicing remote visitor facilities, aerial animal surveys and pest animal control. Your role as the Aerial Land Management Officer will be to participate in the delivery of the Aerial Shooting Program as the programs primary Mission Commander and also provide delivery support for other operational components of Parks Victoria's aerial land management program.

You will assist in the planning and development of operations, and monitors activities to ensure they are conducted in compliance with the approved operations plan. You will assist in the preparation of relevant emergency response planning and contribute to the continuous improvement of the aerial shooting program and broader aerial land management program.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Victorian Air Attack Supervisor accreditation is mandatory
  • Extensive experience in fire and emergency management is essential
  • Experience in the provision of expert technical advice and support to aerial programs within Government organisations

About the Branch

The Fire, Emergency and Enforcement Directorate oversees the provision of state-wide specialist resources in fire and emergency response, Enforcement programs and the use of aircraft for delivery of Parks Victoria's programs. The Directorate leads state-wide liaison with Emergency Management Victoria the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and other emergency services organisations providing strategic operational direction, advice and expertise for Melbourne and Regional Victoria.
