About the role

As the Ranger (Fire and Emergency), your primary focus will be on the prevention and suppression of fires in the landscape and the protection of Victorian communities. You will undertake tasks such as fire suppression (respondinjg to fires), planned burning including preparation, vegetation management and other tasks as directed by the Team Leader, Fire and Emergency.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Successfully pass a DELWP firefighter medical and Task based Assessment, Category C - General firefighter
  • Experience with plant, chainsaw and machinery operation and/or other trade related skills.
  • Practical skills in the maintenance and operation of machinery, small equipment and tools.
  • Demonstrated self management skills.
