About the branch

The Northern Region is responsible for the delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Directorate resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Services will be delivered within the demands of the Directorate's Statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with the community and other government agencies.

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves.  Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

The primary focus of your role is to provide high level support to the Regional Director in the management of the administrative, operational services for the Region. This includes undertaking a wide range of administrative, organisational and analytical duties.

As Regional Support Coordinator, you will support and assist the Regional Director and Regional Leadership Team in the overall management of the Region in the delivery of regional objectives and corporate initiatives. Your role will require a high level of administration, time management, stakeholder engagement and project management skills. You will have a strong focus on supporting the Region to manage senior stakeholder relationships both internally and externally to deliver time critical and politically sensitive projects.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Certificate qualification in office administration or business-related field and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is highly desirable.
  • Strong communications skills with a track record in dealing with politically sensitive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level judgement experience in analytical problem solving and decision making.
  • Demonstrated experience in multiple portfolio management.
  • A current employee Working with Children Check is required.
