About the role:

This Ranger (Field Services) role will be accountable for personal performance - we are seeking someone who can demonstrate a strong personal work ethic, actively participate in a team environment and ensure that the overall success of the team is considered to be an outcome of individual success. The Ranger will be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times.

As part of the Fire Recovery Team, this role requires a high level of personal fitness. Tasks can include vegetation maintenance with chainsaws and brush cutters in steep terrain, walking track construction, park furniture and signage installation.

To meet our commitments in the Fire Recovery Operations Plan, Parks Victoria may from time to time require employees to reside at a location other than their usual place of residence. This may also include the need for employees to camp out.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated skills in the maintenance and construction of a range of park facilities, including campground amenities, campgrounds, signs, fences and walking tracks
  • Demonstrated practical skills in the maintenance and operation of small machinery, small plant and equipment and hand tools
  • The ability to self-manage and work autonomously
