About the role
This will be an exciting opportunity for a hands-on safety practitioner to:
- Analyse major projects and identify OHS risks and controls, and initiatives to achieve OHS outcomes in projects
- Advise of internal and statutory approval requirements
- Advise on OHS requirements to be included in procurement documentation / specifications and support the review and assessment of responses
- Lead the development of risk assessments and Safety Management Plans
- Provide linkage into and support to the broader HSE team
- Provide expert OHS advice to project managers, contractors and other stakeholders across the organisation in the design, planning, preparation, and delivery of works
- Lead and support incident investigations; communicating relevant Safety Alerts and Lessons Learned as required
- Champion the Safety First, Zero Injuries culture in Capital Projects and broader Parks Victoria
We're looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated OHS experience in the construction industry (OHS experience in client-side project delivery will be highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience in managing OHS in built asset projects
- Demonstrated experience identifying issues, problem solving, developing innovative, sensitive, and practical solutions, and providing strategic advice to complex issues
- Working knowledge and practical application of OHS legislation, regulations, and Australian Standards
- A tertiary qualification in OHS or related field
