Position Details

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Advisor who will be responsible for providing expert authoritative building technical information, reports and advice to Complaint Services and other internal and external stakeholders, including the VBA executive and CEO.  The role will also be responsible for highly complex and sensitive matters, as well as the development of operational guidelines and delivery of training the employees.

 

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • registration as a building surveyor or the ability to gain (or working towards) registration as a Building Surveyor (Limited or Unlimited) with the VBA;
  • proven ability to prepare and deliver high level authoritative expert technical reports and briefings on complex matters of a sensitive nature and relay these findings to VBA managerial and executive levels;
  • ability to identify improvement in organisational processes, procedures and develop and implement organisational guidelines and policy;
  • proven ability to train and mentor persons from a non-technical background including the delivery of specific VBA functional training effecting the way business is undertaken;
  • ability to act with discretion on matters of a highly sensitive nature;
  • proven ability to establish, develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships and provide feedback to managerial and executive level on matters of importance;
  • ability to inspire and influence organisational change to improve the progress of VBA functions and responsibilities; and
  • advanced Diploma of Building Surveying /Bachelor's in building surveying is required and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is desirable.

 

Salary Details

A base salary in the VPS5.2 range of $108,726 - $119,052 annum plus 9.5% super.
