The VBA currently has opportunities as a Team Leader Building Inspections where you can make a positive contribution and influence the future direction of the industry.

As the Team Leader Building Inspections you will be responsible for leading and mentoring the Building Inspection Services team to ensure business outcomes and inspection activities are delivered.

Your extensive experience in the industry will be highly valued in supporting the development and capability of the team and providing a meaningful contribution to the strategic planning and initiatives within the Office of the State Building Surveyor.

Key functions of the role include managing, mentoring and developing a team of technical professionals, providing expert technical advice and recommendations to stakeholders, inspections and audits on complex and high-risk matters to ensure compliance with legislation, act as the MBS VBA delegate and issuing appropriate documentation. 

Who we are looking for 

  • Substantial knowledge of the building industry and relevant legislation and frameworks with the ability to identify and respond to emerging issues.
  • High level experience in leading, supporting and developing a high functioning technical team to achieve targets and outputs.
  • Tertiary qualifications in building surveying, construction management, engineering and/or related fields that are relevant to the role.
