About the role:

Parks Victoria is seeking a committed and capable Biodiversity Project Officer to support the delivery of critical biodiversity recovery actions following the 2024–25 summer fires in the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park.

Working closely with the Recovery Biodiversity Coordinator - Gariwerd, this role is responsible for delivering on-ground recovery activities including invasive species control, habitat restoration, and monitoring the response of flora and fauna to recovery efforts. The role is funded through the externally supported Grampians Fire Recovery Program and plays a central part in meeting nature conservation and biodiversity objectives in this culturally and ecologically significant landscape.

The position requires strong project delivery skills, a hands-on approach to fieldwork, and the ability to prioritise work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated experience in land and water management, particularly invasive species control
  • Experience in project planning, coordination, and on-ground delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to provide expert technical advice and field-based support
