Senior Standards Adviser
We are seeking an education professional with excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills to join our small but highly motivated Standards Unit. This team oversees teacher understanding and use of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers in regulatory processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Department of Education & Training and the Teacher Learning Network on a project to build the capability of casual relief teachers to proactively manage their professional learning and meet registration requirements.

Do you have sound knowledge of the teaching profession and the challenges facing casual relief teachers (CRTs)? Do you have an interest in teacher outreach, helping them manage their registration obligations? This busy and dynamic medium-sized organisation is seeking an education professional who can work with external partners to develop, manage and deliver resources and information that build the professionalism of CRTs to meet the expectations of their teacher registration.
To do this you will have the ability to build and sustain positive relationships with:
- Registered teachers, including CRTs and CRT network leaders, and teacher employers
- External partners and stakeholders
- Your VIT colleagues
As well as your proven people skills, you are also organised and able to deliver project-based activities on time, on budget and with acceptance from the teaching profession.
To be successful in your application, you will have well developed stakeholder engagement and presentation skills. You are able to negotiate and influence to achieve desired outcomes. You have sound conceptual and analytical skills, and ability to provide clear, concise and authoritative advice on complex matters.
This position requires travel within Victoria and a current Australian driver’s license is required.
