The Procurement Branch is part of the Corporate Services portfolio and focuses on supporting the Department and several portfolio agencies though a decentralised procurement model. Business areas undertake procurement activities and the Corporate Procurement Team (CPT) acts as expert advisors at all points of the procurement process. At these points the CPT provides guidance, advice, ideas and solutions, while ensuring procurement activities are undertaken within government legislative and policy requirements.
Reporting to the CPO, the Assistant Director role will lead a small team of procurement advisors and set the strategic direction for procurement and contract management at DPC. Part of the remit is to refresh and build partnerships across stakeholder groups, ensuring policies, processes and systems are developed to enable best practice outcomes in supporting positive business outcomes and adding value.
You will have demonstrable experience leading a procurement team, and a track record in strategic sourcing and category management in complex matrix environments. You will also have strong people leaderships skills and experience in change management and transformation in commercial end to end procurement environments.
Tertiary qualifications and/or membership to a procurement body will be highly regarded.
