Position Details

Ambulance Victoria (AV) is now recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join the Planning & Corporate Finance team. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 6 months (mid-July 2018 to mid-January 2019) based at AV's Doncaster headquarters, replacing an existing staff member who is taking long service leave.

The Finance Analyst will provide financial analytical support enabling AV to make informed decisions and improve business practice, and support the development and implementation of a robust budget and forecasting process at AV.

About the role

Reporting to the Planning & Corporate Finance Manager, the main duties of the role include:

  • Supporting the development and ongoing management of a suite of financial reports, methodologies and framework;
  • Prepare and provide financial information via analysis and projections to support business cases, tender evaluations and other costings;
  • Contribute to ongoing review, maintenance and updating of AV's costing models to ensure their structure, formulae, input assumptions and outputs are comprehensive, accurate, meaningful and reliable;
  • Contribute to the collation and coordination of AV's monthly forecasting and mid-year budget review to assist AV approved budgets meet the parameters set by the Board in terms of financial sustainability;
  • Foster effective working relationships with Business Managers and divisional finance representatives, providing guidance and advice.

About you

The successful applicant will have a CPA Australia or ICAA membership, approved tertiary qualifications in business, accounting or commerce and a demonstrated knowledge and experience working with accounting and costing systems

Applicants should also be an expert in financial modelling (Excel) and accounting systems, able to use data extraction tools and formulae, have experience in management and reporting of financial issues in a large complex organisation, experience and exceptional skills in costing and financial analysis as well as time management skills.

The salary range is $90k pro-rata.
