Position Details

ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT

Permanent - Part Time

  

A motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant is required to work in the, Allied Health Department predominantly in the areas of Occupational Therapy, Dietetics and the Community Rehabilitation Centre.

This part time position involves planning and implementation of therapeutic activities in the Community Rehabilitation Centre under the direction and supervision of qualified Allied Health staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.  It also involves general administration tasks including computer data entry, cleaning / tracking of equipment and opportunities to work with Occupational Therapy staff in other areas as required.

The position also involves working in the Dietetics Department completing general administrative and clerical tasks, resource preparation, providing support to therapy groups as required, under the supervision and direction of qualified Dietetics staff.

This role may also include provision of Allied Health Assistance in other Allied Health Departments as required.

Job sharing will be considered.

 

Requirements / Desirable Experience

  • Qualification in a nationally recognised Allied Health Assistant –Certificate IV course
  • Previous experience in the provision of therapy support services, including group and / or individual therapy
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Well developed organisational and time management skills
  • Well developed computer literacy and familiarity with word-processing software
  • Current Drivers License
