Position Details

South West Healthcare's Occupational Therapy (OT) department has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to join their Allied Health team. This temporary senior role (until January 2019) will support the Occupational Therapy Manager in areas of clinical, managerial and education tasks. Both full time and part time applications will be considered.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will provide services in their specialist branch of the profession in a client centred, holistic approach.

It is expected that the successful candidate would have:

  • advanced knowledge in the provision of Occupational Therapy practice
  • advanced knowledge in the areas of leadership, team work and effective communication
  • knowledge of scope of practice in Occupational Therapy and systems of clinical governance, including development and evaluation of service delivery
  • clinical expertise in Occupational Therapy assessments and treatment in chosen clinical field.
  • excellent clinical reasoning skills
  • ability to plan and manage caseload and delegate workload as appropriate
  • ability to assess clinical risk and quality of service being provided
  • excellent intra and inter personal skills, including time management, verbal and written communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • ability to work closely with key stakeholders including administrative staff
