 The Allied and Community Health Division of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group is seeking enthusiastic qualified staff to fill the above role/s. Job share and split days/hours will also be considered as well casual days available The Warragul/Drouin area is located 100 km east of Melbourne and is renowned for the local Deli Trail, beautiful surrounds, easy access to Melbourne (via M1 and hourly fast train), Baw Baw snow fields and coastal areas.

The Family Counsellor position provides services to families and children using Best Interest Principles as part of the Latrobe / Baw Baw Integrated Family Services Alliance.  The main aim of this position is to provide family focussed counselling and effective case management to clients referred where significant risk to wellbeing of children is identified.

Our preferred candidate will hold a Degree in Counselling, Social Work, or Psychology (Probationary Psychologist accepted) and a Family Therapy qualification (or be working towards it).  Knowledge of working in rural areas is also essential.

The Family Violence position aims at providing professional counselling for Women and Children who have experienced Family Violence. You will have a solid understanding of Family Violence Issues and the Social Model of Health and work well within a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate must have Degree in Psychology or Social Work and ideally; Post Graduate studies in counselling families and children, Short course(s) in Family Violence or be willing to obtain training, Knowledge of and experience working with mental health issues.

Supervision, support, salary packaging and continuing professional development opportunities are available to the successful applicants. All applicants will have an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team.
