Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded community based emergency services organisations. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whilst our firefighters are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.

As the District Support Officer you will:

  • Ensure the District / Regional office is managed in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring appropriate prioritisation of issues on behalf of Management and other staff as required
  • Manage reports and other documentation for the District / Region, ensuring correct and appropriate retention and accessibility of these within the relevant record management system
  • Develop and maintain an effective network and co-operative relationships with internal and external client base ensuring that items raised are dealt with in a responsive, timely and professional manner
  • Provide administrative support for meetings including but not restricted to agenda preparation, schedule meetings, catering requirements, minute taking, as well as following up on action items, initiating action and liaising with Senior Management on meeting outcomes where required

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Demonstrated relevant years of experience in administration or business support within a large, complex organisation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and cooperative relationship with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work proactively, with minimal supervision and direction
  • Ability to source and interpret information to develop professional documents and reports
