Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Research and Policy Officer for a fixed term 6 month position to join the Community Participation branch. The Research and Policy Unit, Community Participation is a Branch of the Multicultural Affairs and Social Cohesion Division within the Social Policy & Service Delivery Reform Group, Department of Premier and Cabinet. The Research and Policy Unit provides operational support to the Victorian Multicultural Commission.

In this role you will lead, coordinate or contribute to high quality research, complex analysis and evaluate specific issues; prepare and manage the preparation, within tight time frames, of comprehensive reports as well as provide oversight of community consultations, regional advisory councils and research projects.

To succeed in this role, you will have strong policy, analytical and communication skills coupled with an ability to work effectively in a team environment and have demonstrated project management experience. In addition, the successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with good understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast paced environment.

A relevant tertiary qualification preferably in public policy, social sciences or project management would be an advantage.
