Position Details

Applications are sought for the role of Manager, Aboriginal Lands within the Department of Premier and Cabinet. 

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Aboriginal Victoria branch which provides advice to the Victorian Government on Aboriginal heritage, planning, policy and delivers key programs.

The Manager, Aboriginal Lands is required to effectively lead and manage a small team to deliver on key projects associated with the Aboriginal Lands Act 1970 (the Act) including a comprehensive review of this Act and the Aboriginal Lands Act 1990. 

To succeed in this role you must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with Aboriginal communities and relevant land issues. You must also demonstrate an ability to partner, communicate and build relationships with Aboriginal communities, across government and other relevant stakeholders.  The successful applicant will have excellent planning, organisational, influencing and strategic leadership skills with an eye for detail.
