Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded statutory authority that protects lives and property.. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whilst our firefighters are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.

The Executive Assistance (EA) to the Executive Director, People & Culture (P&C) plays an integral role in supporting and providing support to the Executive Director.

The role provides effective, efficient, professional and high quality management and administrative support to the Executive Director, P&C demonstrating a mature awareness and understanding of relevant issues and sensitivities and potential risks. This position is required to exercise sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality at all times.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant senior administration experience within a large and/or complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Superior organisational and time-management capabilities with the ability to evaluate and action priorities to assist in managing the Executive Director's decision making. Ability to work proactively, with minimal supervision and direction and as member of a team.
  • Ability to source and analyse information to develop professional documents and reports.
  • Exceptional computer literacy skills, knowledge and proficiency of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation packages, including PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, sound judgment and discretion in upholding confidentialities.
