About VMIA:

The Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) provides risk advice and insurance services for the Victorian Government. We work with our clients to improve the quality of life for the Victorian community. We advise and insure more than 4300 clients. They include Victorian Government departments, statutory authorities and agencies, hospitals, tertiary institutions, health centres, community service organisations, national parks, museums and cemetery trusts. We cover infrastructure such as state roads, rail and bridges.

 

About the opportunity:

Reporting to the Head of ICT and based in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, we are seeking an expert in ICT Services Support to execute service delivery, maintenance and support of ICT technical support functions to all VMIA users. You will be challenged with:

• Actioning Service Desk requests to enable the VMIA to meet all its technical and operational business processing requirements based on priority, impact and timeframe

• Monitoring VMIA ICT systems and infrastructure via health check and daily preventative maintenance program to ensure availability, stability, security and performance of the IS Infrastructure

• Maintaining the currency of technical documentation of VMIA's IS asset and systems

• Contributing to ICT solutions that have the potential to improve the management of ICT environment and/or benefit VMIA staff in the conduct of their job

• Assisting in VMIA's new staff induction process via account creation, equipment setup and ICT induction

 

Being successful in this role requires:

• An ability to recognise, analyse and effectively solve problems in a timely and organised manner using industry best practices

• Effective interpersonal skills demonstrated by dealing with a range of professional staff 

• Successfully and proven track record in ICT technical and operational troubleshooting and maintenance

• Good understanding on importance and impact of system and infrastructure maintenance and health check

• Relevant degree or industry certified in relevant field (Technology, Microsoft, ITIL, Comptia)Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to resolve issues within area of responsibility

• An ability to work together as a team and individual in a support environment
