Exercise Physiologist – New Graduate/Grade 1 Position


New Full Time Position – Ongoing


An excellent opportunity exists for a New Graduate or experienced Grade 1 Exercise Physiologist to join the Allied Health Team at Central Gippsland Health. This position offers the opportunity to obtain experience with a mixed caseload, in a thriving and vibrant rural health setting.  This position offers a varied and interesting caseload across the community, outpatient, group and home-based settings.


The successful applicant will work with a multi-disciplinary health and community services team who see the client at the centre of their care. This caseload will encompass individual and group setting in an inpatient and outpatient setting.


CGH is the major provider of health and residential aged care services in the Wellington Shire and is an integrated health service. We have a wide range of primary health and community support services in addition to the acute hospital services. Central Gippsland presents a large number of amenities that provide a great lifestyle for all with close access to beaches, parklands and snow. 


CGH Allied Health Department has a staff establishment of more than 40 effective full time positions, based in a purpose built Rehabilitation facility. This new exercise physiologist position is situated with the Physiotherapy Department which has 6 full time and 2 part-time Physiotherapists.  There is a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist along with five Grade 2 therapists and 2 other Grade 1 therapists.  There is also another Exercise Physiologist and qualified and experienced Allied Health Assistants.


The role will require commitment to providing leading edge exercise physiology practices, as well as a passion for client centred care coordination. The areas of service delivery of this position include rehabilitation, general paediatrics, community outpatients and groups.

Mandatory Qualifications/Skills/Competencies

  • Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science and Masters of Exercise Physiology or equivalent
  • Accredited with Exercise and Sports Science Australia  (ESSA)
  • Proven exercise physiology experience
  • Victorian Drivers License
  • Clear police check
  • Working with Children Check
