About the role:
As a Ranger (Field Services), the primary focus of your position is to plan for, and deliver, in park services as supported by the Ranger Team Leader to enable efficient and effective delivery including the delivery of on the ground works including, but not limited to, maintenance of assets, infrastructure, and facilities; and the field delivery of environmental projects. You will be offered training, learning and development opportunities to deliver a level of environmental and service expertise, as well as be supported by Parks Victoria to obtain any qualifications and tickets required to undertake specific tasks and roles.
You will be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times. You may be required to work rostered weekends where they are remunerated through the payment of a Rostered Weekend Allowance (annual allowance of their substantive base salary).
We're looking for someone with:
- Practical skills and experience in the maintenance and operation of small power equipment and tools for asset maintenance
- Experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated skills in the maintenance and construction of a range of park facilities, including, signs, campgrounds, fences and walking tracks.

About the branch:
The Southern & Maritime Region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves. Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.
