Purchasing Officer

Supply Department
Permanent full time position


We have an exciting opportunity available within our Supply Department in the role of the Purchasing Officer. This position is responsible for ensuring that stock is ordered and received in a timely manner in order to meet organisational demands. Our ideal candidate will have strong experience in a similar role, having had responsibility for monitoring and maintaining stock accuracy. The role also holds responsibility for car pool allocation, mail and delivery pickup/distribution, supply-based accounting, regular reporting and other administration and duties as required by the Supply Manager. You will need to demonstrate sound organisation and computer operating skills, and be a good communicator.

Qualifications and experience required for the role include:   

  • Demonstrated experience in supply, purchasing or warehousing with a broad practical approach to customer service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office, (particularly Word and Excel) and knowledge of purchasing/supply related systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Current Victorian Driving Licence.

 

The following knowledge/experience would be considered advantageous:

  • Experience within a hospital or health care environment, in particular, knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of motor vehicle fleet management
  • Forklift Licence.
