Performance Improvement Unit

Quality and Safety Lead

Part Time, Fixed Term Maternity Leave Relief – (56 hours/7 days per fortnight)

 

An exciting opportunity is now available for a dedicated professional to work in the Performance Improvement Unit. This role will:

  • Have overall responsibility for the organisation's quality and risk activities. 
  • Be responsible for the organisational risk register including the examination of responses to serious incidents.
  • Support national standard processes including auditing.
  • Support acute, aged care, community and corporate services.

 

This opportunity will allow our ideal candidate to combine their strong analytical and report writing skills with effective liaison skills.  The provision of reporting, advice and support to managers is a key facet of this role.

 

Our ideal candidate will hold:

  • Experience in the provision of support, advice and guidance to managerial staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn risk management principles and experience in managing systems and processes to monitor and prevent risks in the healthcare setting.

 

Required qualifications and experience include:

Mandatory:

  • Clinical background.
  • Demonstrated skills in report writing and computer data analysis and high level computer skills.

                  

Desirable:

  • Experience or knowledge in managing and supporting continuous improvement and risk management.
  • Knowledge of Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare National Standards and accreditation processes.
  • Willingness to obtain knowledge in Clinical Governance and Risk Management.
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements in the healthcare industry.
