Position Details

In October 2017, the Victorian Government announced an additional $60 million in funding to CFA as part of its Fire Services Statement (FSS) to help keep communities safe and further strengthen its service delivery.   This will be critical to positioning CFA as a highly capable, modern, responsive emergency services organisation which reflects the community it serves. 

This is a senior role that has responsibility for influencing and designing initiatives to build volunteer leadership capability and to develop a leadership framework for the initiatives in the FSS Volunteer Leadership plan. This role will partner with the People and Culture teams, the Volunteers and Strategy Directorate and the Training team to design and plan strategies that develop and strengthen volunteer leadership capability and support the advancement of the organisational cultural and capability priorities.

This position will strengthen volunteer leadership capability throughout the volunteer lifecycle, by integrating programs and projects to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives. 

Frequent travel across the state may be required in this role.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to meet tight timelines and deliver quality solutions.
  • Ability to write high quality project reports, benefits tracking and executive briefs within tight timelines
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing leadership capability frameworks and assessment of leadership programs
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder partnering skills
  • Able to adapt and support leaders through change in a complex environment
  • Collaborative approach to resolving problems and designing solutions
  • A strong understanding of the people aspects of change management and the ability to apply to work situations
  • Experience in budget tracking and reporting on performance in line with project requirements
