Position Details

CFA is recruiting to a number of challenging and exciting positions that are integral to delivering the Government's initiatives to enhance the delivery of fire services.

In October 2017, the Victorian Government announced an additional $60 million in funding to CFA as part of its Fire Services Statement (FSS) to help keep communities safe and further strengthen its service delivery. This will be critical to positioning CFA as a highly capable, modern, responsive emergency services organisation which reflects the community it serves.

The following role will be integral to achieving this and therefore appointing the right candidate is critical.

CFA Training ensures learning and training priorities are delivered across the state of Victoria.

The Coordinator Learning and Development Leadership, contributes to the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs that encourage, maintain and strengthen the capability of all members of CFA and enhance their role within delivery of CFA services.

The coordinator provides support and advice to relevant parties, including Regional Learning and Development Teams to ensure consistency and standardisation of Leadership practice. They work closely with the approved providers of Leadership, CFA Management and Regional Learning and Development, to enhance brigade capability and enable brigade viability.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent and an understanding of the arrangements, standards and environment of a RTO.
  • Well-developed written communication skills to develop reports & correspondence and to convey training information and objectives to internal & external customers.
  • Proven administrative skills and experience including word processing, spread sheets and ability to utilize a variety of enterprise wide systems and applications.
  • A contemporary understanding of competency based learning & development business practices.
  • Proven ability to manage numerous, varied and concurrent projects within budget, quality and time parameters.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as an effective member of a (virtual) team.
  • An understanding of the application of Leadership within the Emergency Services sector.
