Almost every year between June and September the Southern Right Whales return to the waters off Warrnambool and often swim within a hundred meters of the shore.

Graduate Mental Health Nurse Program (GNP) applications for South West Healthcare are now invited for the 2019 year.

All our GNP positions are subject to the state-wide Computer Matching process, conducted by the Post Graduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV). All graduate nurse posts are allocated in Victoria through this Computer Matching Service. The rules for GNP eligibility and matching to all the Hospitals in Victoria are governed by PMCV in conjunction with the Victorian Government funding body, Department of Health and Human Services. To be eligible for GNP in Victoria you must be a graduate of a Victorian University and a Victorian permanent resident. Graduates of interstate Universities or full-fee paying Victoria graduates can still apply for a limited number of places. Refer to PMCV guidelines and website for full details www.pmcv.com.au

 

South West Healthcare's Mental Health Service provides a comprehensive integrated mental health service to a population of over 110,000 centred in Warrnambool, Camperdown, Portland and Hamilton. The region covers an area of approximately 26,000 square kilometres and within 5 local government areas. Components of the service include a 15-bed acute inpatient unit; a five-bed recovery focused residential service, 10-bed Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC) facility and community based multidisciplinary teams for Children and Adolescents, Adults, Aged Persons, Primary Mental Health, Early Intervention and Dual Diagnosis.

Only three hours drive from Melbourne with a direct train service four times per day, there are excellent facilities for education from preschool to university level, and opportunities to participate in all areas of the creative arts and sport.

    1. Copy of three most recent clinical placement assessments (including one mental health placement assessment).
