Position Details

About the role:

In this role you will develop and implement programs, with direction from Manager-Shared Services & Brigade Finance:

  • To undertake a regular formal program of inspection and review of brigade/group financial activity and to report accordingly.
  • To achieve a comprehensive understanding of each brigade's/group's financial activities.
  • To support CFA meeting its compliance and reporting obligations in relation to brigade financial activity
  • To support and mentor brigades and groups with their financial management practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and CFA financial policies and procedures.

About you:

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in working to timelines and specifications with minimal disruption to Districts and Brigade activities. Demonstrated results orientation, including the ability to meet deadlines for the delivery of defined outputs, reports and other data as appropriate.
  • Good understanding of financial reports and accounting concepts for inspection and review of brigade financial activity.
  • Good understanding of inventories and asset identification and classifications.
  • Interpersonal skills of a high order, with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of personnel, particularly volunteers. 
  • Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification, particularly in finance or accounting discipline or proven experience undertaking a similar role in a large and complex organisation.
  • Understanding of the CFA volunteer ethos.
