Position Details

The Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) is transforming its digital communication and service delivery through the Single Digital Presence (SDP) project. This project is achieving three things:

  1. Creating DPC's digital platform using an open Platform as a Service (PaaS) model so we can build websites quickly and cost effectively. SDP products include the hosting platform (BAY) the SDP Drupal 8 Distribution (TIDE) and SDP Pattern library (https://ripple.sdp.vic.gov.au).
  2. Redesigning and migrating DPC's websites to the new platform to help citizens find, understand and apply government information to their situation.
  3. Creating SDP products and services to support scaling and reuse across the Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG).

DPC is looking for a Senior Product Manager to help design and develop the products to match the way citizens and department users want to consume them and with an understanding of the evolving commercial market we compete in. You will ignite people's passion around the SDP products - both within DPC and across WoVG, and play an important strategic, decision-making role in driving, communicating, and executing the product roadmap.

Working within Digital Engagement, you will collaborate with the SDP project team, which includes specialists in Project management, UX research and design, Content strategy and design, IT Architecture, Development, Engineering and Quality assurance. This team is using Agile SCRUM to design, build, release and support SDP products and services. Many processes are still being developed and refined as we deliver out-of-the-box and custom websites.

You will also work closely with the vic.gov.au Product Owner to ensure SDP products and services exceed the expectations of this critical consumer. Vic.gov.au is the official Victorian Government website for Victorians, which provides information and services. Transitioning most of DPC's websites here will improve citizen's experience. The release of alpha.vic.gov.au has generated tremendous interest across WoVG in SDP products and services.

This role would suit an ambitious, experienced product manager. Ideally, you can transition us from project-lead to product-lead decision-making and help deliver positive changes for Victorian citizens and government.

The closing date for this position is Wednesday, 19 September 2018.

This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.

How to apply:
