About the role:
In this position, you will work as part of a dedicated team of lawyers and administrative staff in our Ballarat office, providing high quality services to our clients in the Central Highlands region.  

With a focus on criminal, mental health, child protection, and family violence matters this role will see you undertaking duty lawyer services, conducting casework, and providing legal information and advice to a range of clients. As well as this you will participate in community legal education programs in the region and actively contribute to the development of the office plan and strategies to improve client services.

About you:
You are an engaged and motivated Lawyer, with a passion for social justice and the proven ability and drive to advocate on behalf of clients who are faced with economic and social disadvantage. You have sound communication and interpersonal skills and employ these when providing the highest standard of service and support to clients and internal stakeholders alike.  

Your experience and knowledge of the legal system, particularly in mental health, criminal, and family law matters, along with your commitment to the vision and values of Victoria Legal Aid will be essential to your success in this role and see you become a valuable member of the Ballarat office.
