Position Details
  • Assist the team to identify, understand and respond appropriately to emerging issues and trends, and improve its regulatory policy and practice.
  • Undertake research and analysis on issues (including literature reviews, data collection and analysis, surveys, internal stakeholder consultation, and case study development) relevant to the regulation of the building and plumbing industries.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research project documentation such as project proposals, briefs and reports, and liaise with key stakeholders on research activities.



  • Prepare and contribute to research reports and briefings.
  • Assist in identifying regulatory issues/risks, sources of information, data gaps and analysis and research opportunities.
  • Represent the Research and Evaluation Unit and VBA at stakeholder forums where required.
  • Provide administrative support to the Research and Evaluation unit.
  • Participate in Research and Evaluation Unit and Divisional projects, initiatives and activities where required.


 Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate research reports.
  • Ability to gather and analyse information to identify trends in the environment and problem solve.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple demands.
  • Ability to identify gaps in information and observe fine details.


Salary Details

Base salary in the VPS Grade 3 range of $68,884 to $76,263 per annum + 9.5% super.
