Position Details

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for an ongoing part time (32 hours per fortnight) Emergency Reception clerical position within the Health Information Services Department.  

The Health Information Services department operates a 24 hour, 7 day per week roster to support the medical records requirements of the hospital.  The roster will include weekends, public holidays, afternoon, evening shifts and full time hours will be required for initial training.

Duties will involve maintenance of confidential medical records, admission of patients, filing, data input, emergency reception duties, admissions, switchboard and other administrative tasks. 

Experience in data entry is essential.  Knowledge of medical terminology would be favourably regarded.  The ability to work both independently without supervision and as an integral part of a busy team, together with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
