About the role:
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced people services leader to manage and develop the recruitment, resourcing and remuneration functions of Victoria Legal Aid (VLA).

One of your first priorities will be to undertake a review of these functions in an environment of growth and evolution, giving you the opportunity to shape your team's operations in line with VLA's strategic workforce planning and reporting needs.   You will provide high level advice to senior executives on strategic resourcing, demographics, workforce metrics and trends and lead your team in the development and implementation of a variety of process improvements.

The role will also facilitate a suite of metrics to educate and inform VLA people leaders on the current state of their teams, the long-term implications of resourcing decisions and provide strategic resourcing recommendations to support the efficacy and diversity of VLA's workforce. You will also develop VLA's employment branding, such that it resonates with staff, attracts the highest calibre of applicants from diverse backgrounds and achieves strong ‘brand' recognition within the marketplace.

About you:
You are an enthusiastic and engaging leader with experience managing, leading and motivating a team to deliver results. You have the ability to think systemically and laterally in providing workforce strategies and solutions, while simultaneously evolving effective operational recruitment, resourcing and payroll processes.

You have the ability to influence, negotiate, inspire confidence, build rapport and drive change with a demonstrated understanding of workforce planning methodologies and experience in providing an internal end-to-end recruitment function within a complex environment, preferably within government or a legal practice.

About Victoria Legal Aid:
We help people with their legal problems by providing information, advice and education with a focus on the prevention and early resolution of legal problems. We also provide legal representation to those who need it most. We employ over 840 staff in 14 offices across Victoria. Our vision is for a fair and just society where rights and responsibilities are upheld.

Employee benefits:
We offer attractive employment benefits including salary packaging (making part of your salary tax-free and increasing take-home pay), flexible working arrangements, family friendly policies and opportunities for professional development. The work is both challenging and rewarding and our staff are supported by experienced and capable managers as well as a range of internal departments and programs committed to staff safety and development. VLA has a friendly and inclusive culture of people working to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged Victorians.

How to apply:
Submit a current resume and completed candidate application form addressing the specified key selection criteria. Separate responses to all of the key selection criteria outlined in the position description is not required. You must complete the candidate application form to be considered for this role.

For further information review the attached position description or contact Georgie Dwyer, Head of People and Culture on (03) 9269 0621.

Closing date for applications: midnight Sunday 18 March 2018.
