The Building Appeals Board (BAB) is an independent statutory decision-making tribunal which makes decisions about matters relating to the building regulations, the Building Code of Australia and sections of the Building Act 1993, in accordance with the relevant law. We act in the public interest, considering building safety, amenity, sustainability and the ongoing efficiency of the construction industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering the administration and technical functions of the modifications processes for the BAB. Modifications Officers are also responsible for preparing documentation, assessing applications and preparing for them for hearing, and providing general regulation and legislative advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Who we are looking for

  ♦ Tertiary qualifications or current studies in building surveying and some relevant professional experience in a similar role
  ♦ Good knowledge of the building control system in Victoria and knowledge of and ability to interpret legislation and regulations
  ♦ Excellent administration and highly developed oral and written communication skills
  ♦ Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple demands
  ♦ Excellent teamwork and the ability to take responsibility for your work.
