Position Details

Are you looking for an interesting and challenging role working at the centre of government? An exciting opportunity exists for an FOI Officer within the Operations Branch of the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC).

The Operations Branch provides services to all areas of DPC. The FOI Team processes requests to the department and the ministers it supports, for documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. Within the FOI Team, the FOI Officers are responsible for coordinating document searches, liaising with FOI applicants, making relevant enquiries and assessing documents for release under the Freedom of Information Act 1982.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have detailed knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 1982
  • demonstrate attention to detail and a collegiate approach to work
  • have excellent time management skills and an ability to manage competing priorities effectively
  • have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • have the ability to adapt quickly to a new workplace.
