Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Medical Officer to join South West Healthcare's Mental Health team in an ongoing full time position as a Senior Psychiatric Registrar. The successful applicant will have completed a relevant medical degree, have substantial experience in the provision of high quality mental health assessment and treatment whilst being eligible for participation in the International Medical Graduate (IMG) comparability pathway process towards obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).

The Mental Health Service (MHS) within South West Healthcare (SWH) has an established reputation for providing an innovative, integrated approach to community based and client centred service delivery. Working closely with the families and carers of consumers within a recovery framework, the MHS is also renowned for its integrated model of care and the provision of extensive services across a broad demographic client base. The successful applicant must have demonstrable experience operating from the recovery-informed clinical platform in their work with consumers and carers.

South West Healthcare has a total of 282 beds, services a population in excess of 110,000 and is the major specialist referral centre for south west Victoria.

Salary and Conditions for this position will be in accordance with AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector – Doctors In Training Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021 classification of Senior Medical Officer Year 1 to 3 (dependent upon relevant experience).
